The original plan for this section of the website was to create something much more comprehensive than a simple Toy Box file-sharing service. With more than 1,000 Toy Boxes created by members of the Disney Infinity community over the years, the aim was to build a structured and searchable encyclopaedia of Disney Infinity Toy Boxes — preserving not only the downloadable files, but also the history and information behind each creation. The new menu system was designed to allow visitors to explore the collection in different ways, including by creator, category, type, theme and other searchable information. The intention was to make it much easier to discover older creations that might otherwise have been forgotten. However, creating a catalogue at this level required considerably more work than simply moving the existing Toy Box files across. Much of the original information needed to be manually re-catalogued and re-entered into a new, more structured database, with additional information being added to each Toy Box record. With more than 1,000 existing creations to work through, this represented a significant amount of manual work. The intention was ultimately to create a permanent historical archive of the creativity of the Disney Infinity community — somewhere people could explore what had been created over the years, discover Toy Boxes they had never seen before, and, where possible, download and experience them for themselves. Although development of this version of the Toy Box sharing website has now ended, these pages remain a glimpse of what was originally planned.
